Surprise, surprise, when a column of hairy caterpillars with nowhere to go did a circuit or two of the front lawn on their way to a daylight hideout!
The following pictures are just a few taken during a stroll through the hundreds of display plants
I couldn't overlook this excellent specimen of Pink Bouquet (above) Of course, Annie made sure I did all the right things!! (left) |
||
Below see just some of the excellent plants for sale with the two garden gnomes picking out a couple of beauties
I've been watching Taylor's success with breeding new seedlings. Here are some pictures to show how he raises his seedlings and pots them on to the next stage.
Here's how I first photographed the germinating seedlings sitting out on the open verandah with filtered sun through the palm trees. |
||
Four weeks ago, there they were all potted from 2" (50mm) tubes into 3" (75mm) ones and growing like mad. |
||
Now they are really away - you can see the gaps on the left where thay have been potted into 6" (150mm) pots on the right. |

Matty Man x Wallflower |
Here is the next stage - 8" (1 gal) buckets with more 6" in front, where they begin to flower and can be mulched or kept according to whether they are significantly "new" and of good bloom quality and quantity. This one on the left just flowered for the first time. |
